A Brief history of this site and its origins

stevenhill.org and its related components run atop a set of services that deliver information about my background.

The need arose in the 1990s. I couldn't handle the volume of calls and inquiries from recruiters and/or perspective clients. Back then, I used a Zoom Modem with voice and Pacific Page voice mail and Fax software so that people could call and request a resume be faxed to them, leave a message or both.

In the early 2000's I created stevenhill.com to perform the duties of answering questions and producing resumes and allowing people to customize them at will, giving the ability to limit the size and or have it focus on projects with just the skills they were interested in. For instance if someone wanted a BizTalk only resume, it would produce a resume with just the 3-4 projects I used it on, focusing attention on what the prospective client wanted.

With e-mail being a primary recruiting tool in subsequent years in good times I could receive 40 e-mails a day which if they go unanswered will precipitate 15-20 calls in a business day -- unsustainable especially if you are trying to work. In 2019, using some brute force Bayesian algorithms I then automated handling of requirements by scoring what I would answer, giving details on the skills matching in the requirement, and customizing a resume from scratch to send back in the space of 30 seconds. This enables people to get comprehensive responses and gets back to them eliminating the need to call if there isn't a match.

So, now an alpha version of the next AI driven version of this software suite is under construction, using .NET 8.0 and ML.NET with some local language models to help HR professionals get the answers they need. I hope you like it and will leave comments. I need them, good or bad, to improve the experience.
